National training program for teachers on online child safety

Once the methodological notes for the teachers involved in promoting online safety of children were approved, we launched the training sessions for teachers.

The training began on October 22, with an informative webinar for leaders of primary and secondary schools, which was attended by a large number of teachers from all over the country. As mentioned by the Secretary of State of the MECR, Natalia Griu, the activity marked the launch of a national program for training and informing teachers on online safety of children. Nearly 500 directors and deputy directors of schools have decided to improve their knowledge and skills in prevention of online risks to which children are subjected in the educational process. The participants learned from La Strada Moldova specialists how to approach online risks’ prevention in the educational process. Concrete practices of school intervention in cases of online child abuse were also discussed. The representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research pointed out that both the teachers and the project managers and partners demonstrated an unprecedented mobilization, in difficult conditions and very short deadlines.

At the first stage of the webinars, trainings were held for directors and deputy directors for education from the northern part of the country. Further, the webinars will take place according to the following schedule:

* November 5-6, 2020 (Central region)

* November 9-10, 2020 (South)

* November 12-13, 2020 (for Russian speakers from all regions).
