International Centre “La Strada Moldova” has a new President

Daniela Misail-Nichitin takes over today the status of President of International Center La Strada Moldova. With an experience of almost two decades, Daniela Misail-Nichitin is one of the founders of this organization, holding various managerial positions within the institution, from being a trainer, manager of the Resource Center, to being vice-president, and then President of the organization.

Her experience in combating gender-based violence, which she has accumulated at La Strada, is also recognized by international partners of the Republic of Moldova. Her expertise and consultancy services have been and continue to be requested by organizations such as OSCE, IOM Moldova, UNODC, UN Women, etc. In 2019, the US Embassy in Chisinau nominated Ms. Misail-Nichitin for the International Women of Courage Award. This gesture recognizes all of her merits and remarkable contributions she made in a year while working as a volunteer, collaborating with law enforcement agencies, and responding efficiently to sexual violence and domestic violence cases.

During the last five years, Daniela Misail-Nichitin held the position of Director of the Issues Affecting Women Program, during which time the civil society managed to know her as one of the most devoted, competent, and respected specialists in the field of protection of women's rights in the Republic of Moldova.

The new President of La Strada Moldova has signed several publications, researches, and guides for professionals working in combating violence against women and children. She is the co-author of the National Strategy in preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence for the years 2018-2023.

Daniela Misail-Nichitin has a degree in medicine (1999), economic law (2005), and is a member of the Administration Council of the National Coalition "Life without domestic violence."
