BACKGROUND

On the occasion of the European Day for the Elimination of Trafficking in Human Beings (October 18), a press conference will be held to outline the main results of the national anti-trafficking system in recent years. Mass-media representatives will be able to find out more details about the evolution and specifics of the phenomenon, challenges of the criminal process on cases of trafficking in human beings, including child trafficking.

Main subjects to be discussed:

  • National policies in the field of trafficking in human beings
  • Relevant data on the specific cases of trafficking in human beings in the last 5 years, in particular cases of trafficking for the sexual exploitation of children
  • Roles of the representatives of the anti-trafficking system in the process of ensuring a restorative justice for child victims of trafficking in human beings. Progress, good practices and arrears

 The event will be attended by Elena BOTEZATU, Executive Director, International Center La Strada; Brett Rose, Director of the Bureau of Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement, INL; Iurie PODARILOV, Head of the General Police Inspectorate; Vasile HAREA, Head of the Center for Combating Trafficking in Persons, Sergiu RUSSU, Chief Prosecutor, Anti-Trafficking Section, General Prosecutor's Office, Diana DOROȘ, Head of the Directorate for Coordination in the Field of Human Rights and Social Dialogue, State Chancellery.
